The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 included $30 billion to help physicians and hospitals acquire and implement health information technology (HIT). This conference brings together some of the nation's foremost experts in HIT from both the public and private sectors to explore the potential of HIT as a means of improving the quality of patient care and lowering overall health care costs.

Support for this program has been generously provided by the Sid W. Richardson Foundation. The Health Policy Forum would also like to thank its members: Baylor College of Medicine, Madison Benefits Group, Inc., St. Luke"s Episcopal Health System, Humana, The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center and Texas Children"s Hospital.
