The Energy Institute (EI), in partnership with Ember and in collaboration with Kearney and KPMG, is proud to present the 75th edition of the Statistical Review of World Energy, a comprehensive, freely available analysis of global energy markets for the previous year.
First published in 1952, the Statistical Review has grown into one of the most widely respected and authoritative energy datasets in the world. From an era when coal was a primary focus for electricity and industrial growth to the more recent emphasis on clean energy and energy transitions, it has chronicled the evolution of the global energy system for over seven decades.
On Wednesday, July 29, the Baker Institute Center for Energy Studies will host a free, public webinar for the 75th edition of this highly anticipated report. Marking its 75th anniversary, the 2026 edition offers a moment to reflect not only on how much the energy system has evolved, but also on where it is heading. From static tables to dynamic, interactive visualizations, the review has evolved alongside the industry — while remaining grounded in its core mission: delivering accessible, transparent and trusted energy data.
This year’s edition provides exclusive insights at global, regional and country level, showing how the energy system responded to major geopolitical, economic and environmental developments in 2025, including persistent inflationary pressures, ongoing conflicts in Europe and the Middle East, and expanded climate action.
