The Baker Institute’s Internship Program aims to train the next generation of policy leaders by hiring degree-seeking students.

Interns work directly with institute fellows, scholars, and senior staff to support the Institute’s research and operations. 

Degree-seeking undergraduate and graduate students may submit an application to be considered for a paid internship at the Baker Institute.

Applications submitted before February 15 in the Spring — and September 15 in the Fall — receive priority. However, the Institute accepts applications on a rolling basis throughout the Fall and Spring semesters.

Professional Graduate Programs

Master of Global Affairs

The Master of Global Affairs Program, co-sponsored by the Baker Institute and Rice’s School of Social Sciences, integrates scholarship and practical training for global policymaking. The MGA is a full-time professional master's degree and students may expect to complete the program in two years.
