Biography
Justin Alexander is a nonresident fellow at the Edward P. Djerejian Center for the Middle East. He is also the director of Khalij Economics, which he founded in 2017 to provide independent analysis on the GCC for investors, governments and businesses. This includes a subscription research service in association with GlobalSource Partners and a weekly Linkedin newsletter on GCC economic developments.
Since moving to Jordan in 2001, he has lived in Palestine, Iraq and Qatar, and has written extensively on most other MENA countries. He has held positions with Qatar's Ministry of Finance, Qatar National Bank, The Economist Group and the UN Assistance Mission for Iraq, among others. Now based in the US, he continues to visit the region every few months. His research interests include energy policy, labor migration and the economic implications of AI. He holds degrees from Balliol College, Oxford and Birkbeck College, London.
