At this event a panel of representatives from local agencies, organizations and hospitals offered insights into potential solutions to this devastating problem. The panel members shared findings from their work and lived experience. The goal was to increase awareness of local community-driven prevention efforts and highlight ways to reduce racial disparities and overall rates of infant mortality in Houston and beyond.
The event was hosted on Sept. 20 at Baker Hall. It was free and open to the public.
This event was co-sponsored by the Baker Institute Center for Health and Biosciences and UH Healthy Start, with contributions from the Health Resources Services Administration of the Department of Health and Human Services.
