Nonresident Scholar, Maternal and Reproductive Health

Biography

Anna Chatillon, Ph.D., is a nonresident scholar in the Center for Health Policy at the Baker Institute and a Research Scientist at Resound Research for Reproductive Health. Her area of focus is reproductive health, rights, and justice policy, including abortion and contraception, and she brings a decade of experience in policy advocacy and research to this work. 

At Resound, Chatillon manages a portfolio of primarily qualitative research projects focusing on abortion, contraception, and related issues. Recent studies, for example, have explored access to care along the Texas/Mexico border and the effects of Texas Senate Bill 8 (2021) on Texans seeking abortion. Her previous work includes serving as the Director of Policy and Advocacy for the Texas Women’s Healthcare Coalition and working as the Managing Editor of Men and Masculinities. She is a former Society of Family Planning Emerging Scholar.

A Texan born and raised, Chatillon received a B.A. in American Studies from Tufts University. Her Ph.D. in sociology is from the University of California, Santa Barbara, with a primary emphasis on the intersection of race, gender, and reproductive healthcare.
