National oil companies (NOCs) in Latin America must deal with extraordinary shifts in their operating environment, due to the COVID-19 crisis and its consequences for the oil market and the region, a new U.S. administration with a strong focus on climate change policies, and the prospect of a transition away from fossil fuels. Latin America holds the second-largest concentration of hydrocarbon resources in the world, and as NOCs are the dominant players in the region, their performance has significant economic consequences.

At this event, experts discussed the future of NOCs in the region and the strategies and policies required to manage these challenging transitions. The webinar featured a keynote by Felipe Bayón, president and CEO of Ecopetrol, who is leading the transformation of the Colombian NOC into an international energy corporation, followed by panelists Nymia Almeida, Lourdes Melgar, Luis Pacheco and Guillermo Quintero
