The Tax and Expenditure Policy Program organized a major conference, held April 27-28, 2006, at the Baker Institute. The conference, which included numerous internationally acclaimed tax experts and featured a keynote speech by the Honorable James A. Baker, III, focused on the economic and political implications of various tax reform proposals currently under discussion in the United States. The conference was supported by a grant from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation and was titled, "Is It Time for Fundamental Tax Reform?:  The Known, The Unknown, and The Unknowable."
