For the fourth consecutive year, the Baker Institute Center for Energy Studies and Baker Botts L.L.P. co-hosted their annual energy conference. This year's event, "Pandemic, Price War and Other Disruptions: Resilience in Energy Systems," was held virtually across four days and addressed current issues affecting global energy markets, the oil and gas industry, electricity, renewables and the environment. The conference featured over 20 speakers, who addressed how the energy industry responded to the events of 2020 and how those events will shape the industry going forward.
Day three of the conference featured a conversation between Secretary James A. Baker III, and Peter Baker and Susan Glasser, two of America's most prominent political journalists who recently co-authored the book, "The Man Who Ran Washington: The Life and Times of James A. Baker III." Following this discussion, panelists from the oil and gas sector considered the impact of the Saudi-Russia price war and the pandemic on oil and gas markets. For more details, see the agenda below.
