Abdullah Aydogan, Ph.D., is a research scholar at the Baker Institute for Public Policy at Rice University. His research primarily focuses on political parties, parliaments, voting behavior and democratization. Although his work is global in scope, Aydogan specializes in the developing world, particularly the Middle East and North Africa. His recent studies were published in academic journals such as Party Politics and Electoral Studies. He is also the recipient of the Southwestern Political Science Association's award for best graduate student paper in 2015.
Aydogan received a Ph.D. and an M.A. in political science from the University of Houston and a B.S. in mathematics from Bogazici University in Istanbul, Turkey.
