Mexico’s energy reforms have changed the entire sector, though much of the attention has been on hydrocarbons. This event focuses on the effects of reforms on the natural gas and power industry, and includes an update on the upstream bid rounds — in particular, the highly anticipated deepwater bid round in December.

The potential of the gas and power industry to deliver on the promises of the reform are very high, but there must be changes to system regulation, contract handling, private partner participation, wholesale-market management, transmission set-up and distribution networks.

At this event, industry experts, scholars and practitioners analyzed these and related issues and offered insights on the reforms' potential for success.

This event was co-sponsored by the Baker Institute Mexico Center and Haynes and Boone, LLP.
