The Covid-19 pandemic, the associated economic downturn and the widespread stay-at-home orders have created enormous stressors that impact everyone. As a result, it is highly likely that more people are using drugs and alcohol as coping mechanisms during the pandemic. At the same time, social distancing is limiting access to important drug treatment services. The Baker Institute's drug policy experts Katharine Neill Harris and William Martin discussed how Covid-19 is likely to impact drug use and addiction now and in the future.
