Journalist Major Garrett has covered the White House for nearly two decades, reporting on the last four presidents for three different news outlets. Now the chief White House correspondent for CBS News, Garrett has a close-up view of the Trump administration.

At this event, Garrett discussed his new book, “Mr. Trump’s Wild Ride,” which gives an authoritative and entertaining account of the most important and wide-reaching events of Donald Trump’s time in office. 

A book signing followed the presentation. Copies of the book were available for purchase courtesy of Brazos Bookstore.

Major Garrett was named CBS News' chief White House correspondent in November 2012. He reports for all CBS News broadcasts and platforms and serves as a substitute anchor for “Face the Nation.” Garrett has covered the executive branch for 17 years, serving as a White House correspondent for three news outlets during the last four administrations. Previously, he was a senior editor and congressional correspondent for U.S. News and World Report, and a congressional reporter and deputy national editor for The Washington Times. Earlier in his career, Garrett was a reporter for The Houston Post, the Las Vegas Review-Journal and the Amarillo Globe-News. Garrett graduated from the University of Missouri with degrees in journalism and political science.
