The Houston-Harris County Office of Drug Policy will hold its fourth annual Community Drug Awareness Day at Rice University's Baker Institute. This educational conference provides the latest information on substance abuse and drug challenges within the Greater Houston area, as well as an overview of how these issues are being addressed. Topics will include:

  • Houston drug-use trends
  • Substance abuse and health care reform legislation
  • Drug abuse prevention and early recovery
  • Drug-endangered children
  • Drug sentencing reform
  • An update on the Houston Center for Sobriety

This event is free and open to the public. Lunch will be provided. Additionally, attendees will be eligible to receive free continuing education units for social work, LPC, LMFT, LCDC, CPS and TCLEOSE.
