Since entering office nearly three months ago, President Donald Trump has moved swiftly to ramp up immigration enforcement and deport undocumented immigrants. He and his supporters have frequently portrayed irregular migration as a threat to national security and the economy, while critics point to the range of negative social and economic impacts of Trump’s expansive crackdown — and the many immigrants with legal status also being detained and deported.
In this live recording of the “Baker Briefing” podcast, featured guests Tony Payan, Luz Maria Garcini, and David Donatti joined Ambassador David M. Satterfield, director of the Baker Institute, and explored how the Trump administration is reshaping U.S. immigration policy, the broader impacts on American life and society, and the questions at stake in the courts.
