Early in its second term, the Trump administration took bold steps to dismantle diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives — universally known as DEI — on U.S. university campuses.

In this live recording of the “Baker Briefingpodcast, Ambassador David M. Satterfield, director of the Baker Institute, and Ruth Simmons, President’s Distinguished Fellow at Rice University, discussed the impact of these policies on campus culture, faculty hiring, and student experiences, especially for marginalized groups. They explored how college campuses are reacting to being newly targeted as political battlegrounds while striving to uphold long-held commitments to inclusivity and opportunity for all students.

This event was free and open to the public.
