Biography

Osamah Alsayegh is a nonresident fellow at the Center for Energy Studies and the Edward P. Djerejian Center for the Middle East. He is also a research scientist at the Energy and Building Research Center at the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR).

Previously, Alsayegh served as the executive director of the Energy and Building Research Center, acting executive director of the Environment and Life Sciences Research Center at KISR, and a technical coordinator for the former Kuwait National Nuclear Energy Committee. Since 2000, he has led and participated in national energy system planning and strategy development projects, including the National Strategy for the Exploitation of Renewable Energy in Kuwait, the Sustainable National Energy White Paper, and the Kuwait Energy Outlook Program.

Alsayegh earned a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering in 1990 from the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California, and a Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy in electrical engineering in 1995 and 1999, respectively, from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
