This event has been cancelled.

The Russian Embassy has informed us that the Russian ambassador has cancelled his visit to Houston due to unexpected obligations in Washington, D.C. We apologize for any inconvenience.

U.S.-Russia relations arguably have reached their lowest point since the end of the Cold War. On the foreign policy front, Russia and the United States find themselves on opposing sides of issues as varied as the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty, the simmering conflict in Ukraine and Syria’s ongoing civil war.

At this Director’s Lecture Series event, H.E. Anatoly Antonov, Russia’s ambassador to the United States, will address the current state of the bilateral relationship from the Russian perspective and participate in a moderated discussion with Baker Institute director Edward P. Djerejian.
