Since President Donald Trump has assumed office, crises in the Middle East have continued to be among the most critical challenges facing policymakers and the international community. Revolutions, civil wars, terrorism, refugee migration, the unresolved Israeli-Palestinian conflict and geopolitical rivalries characterize the region.
The Middle East remains central to U.S. interests, and responding to these challenges requires coherent and effective policies and an overarching strategy. The Trump administration’s Middle East policy decisions will have important implications nationally, regionally and globally.
At this event, Baker Institute director Ambassador Edward P. Djerejian addressed the region’s complex geopolitical landscape and U.S. policy options.
