Major General Joe Engle gave a lecture on his career experiences. Engle has flown in 185 different types of aircrafts, including 38 different fighter and attack aircrafts. He also helped flight test the joint NASA-Air Force X-15 rocket airplane in the 1960s. Engle was one of the first astronauts in the space shuttle program. He was the commander of Space Shuttle Discovery in 1985, which has been acknowledged as the most successful space shuttle mission yet flown. Engle retired in 1981, but continues to serve as a consultant for the United States Air Force at Edwards Air Force Base.
