This lecture was in conjunction with the Houston presentation of NAZAR, Photographs from the Arab World. Photographs from the NAZAR exhibit were displayed in the Dore Commons.

Michket Krifa has worked as an independent writer, critic, and curator on issues of image and representation in Arab and Muslim cultures. Krifa works frequently in the Arab world on cultural events and exhibits relating to photography and film.<br><br>Issa Touma has been a photographer for the past 15 years. In 1997, he founded one of the first contemporary, international photography events in the Middle East, the International Photography Festival in Aleppo, Syria.
