Featured Speaker

H.E. Shaikh Nawaf S. Al-Sabah was appointed deputy chairman and chief executive officer of Kuwait Petroleum Corp. (KPC) on March 16, 2022. Established as a state-owned corporation in 1980, KPC manages Kuwait’s hydrocarbons resources through eight operating subsidiaries involved in production, refining, transportation, and marketing. Before his current role, Shaikh Nawaf served as president and CEO of KPC Holdings (Aruba) AEC, the corporation’s international downstream subsidiary, where he focused on strategic, high-value projects for Kuwait’s energy sector.

Previously, he was CEO of Kuwait Foreign Petroleum Exploration Co. (KUFPEC), the international upstream arm of KPC, where he led significant expansion and doubled production during his nearly nine-year tenure. Earlier in his career, he held several leadership roles at KPC, including deputy managing director and general counsel. He also served as head of KPC’s Washington Office and worked as a corporate attorney at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP. He is a graduate of Princeton University and Harvard Law School.
