Following the Civic Scientist Lecture Series presentation by National Science Foundation director France A. Córdova, faculty and students from Rice University’s Nanosystems Engineering Research Center for Nanotechnology-Enabled Water Treatment (NEWT) showcased projects such as NEWT’s nano-enhanced solar membrane distillation technology and undergraduate collaborations to develop water treatment solutions for remote locations. The event highlighted the role of engineering research centers in driving innovation.

This event was co-sponsored by the Baker Institute Science and Technology Policy Program and Rice University’s NSF Engineering Research Center for Nanotechnology-Enabled Water Treatment (NEWT).
