Current Role / Affiliation
Cindy Yeilding is a respected leader in the energy industry, currently serving as the Board Chair of The Center for Houston’s Future and sitting on the Executive Committee of the Greater Houston Partnership.

Project or Focus Area
Cindy is leading a youth-focused energy literacy initiative, designing innovative ways to engage Generation Z in understanding the energy system and its role in shaping societal wellbeing. Through an eight-month social media pilot, she and her collaborator, Rice University senior Zack Donovan, are exploring new strategies to meet young audiences where they are and spark interest in energy-related topics. This work builds on Cindy’s broader mission to promote fact-based, inclusive conversations around the future of energy.

Key Achievements
- Former Senior VP of Strategic Initiatives at bp America and chaired the 2019 National Petroleum Council study on Carbon Capture, Use, and Storage.
- Named to Hart Energy’s Energy Hall of Fame (2023) and recognized as one of Houston’s “50 Most Influential Women.”
- Co-editor and co-author of the textbook Deepwater Sedimentary Systems: Science, Discovery and Applications (Elsevier, 2022).
