Mark Agerton is a graduate fellow with the Center for Energy Studies at Rice University's Baker Institute and a Ph.D. student in energy and resource economics at Rice University. His research focuses on long-term contracts in global LNG markets and the economic impacts of the North American shale gas boom. Previously, Agerton worked with energy consultancy Zeus Intelligence and developed the firm's commercial LNG data offerings. He also worked in professional nonprofit fundraising for a Chicago-based organization. He holds a bachelor's degree in Spanish from Davidson College and a master's degree in economics from the University of Illinois at Chicago, where he was a recipient of the FMC Fellowship.
