Biography

Vanessa Wanner Lang, Ph.D. is a Research Scientist at Resound Research for Reproductive Health and an off-campus Research Affiliate with the Population Studies Center at the University of Michigan. She is a quantitatively trained family demographer and sociologist with expertise in studying reproductive behaviors and outcomes. 

Since 2014, she has been working on fertility and reproductive health research projects which have focused on contraceptive access and use, abortion, pregnancy, and childbearing in the United States. She has a specific interest in studying the policy implications surrounding access to contraception and reproductive healthcare and why sociodemographic disparities exist for a variety of reproductive outcomes. 

Vanessa uses her expertise in quantitative methods, data analysis, data collection, and scientific writing to contribute to, and lead, a portfolio of projects that aim to help direct policy that supports reproductive autonomy and strategies that promote equitable and inclusive healthcare policy and practice.
