Biography

Sasathorn Tapaneeyakul, Ph.D., is a research associate for the Baker Institute Center for Health and Biosciences, where she researches, manages, and analyzes domestic health policy data. Tapaneeyakul previously taught introductory and advanced topics and applications in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) at Texas A&M University. She also served as a graduate teaching assistant for geospatial courses and a research assistant for environmental and natural resource management projects. Her dissertation research focuses on mapping and quantifying ecosystem services using biophysical and land-value data through a comprehensive framework of data, geospatial, and statistical analyses.

Tapaneeyakul holds a Ph.D. in ecosystem science and management from Texas A&M University and masters and bachelor’s degrees in economics from The University of Texas at Dallas.
