Biography
Rich Kohng, DMin., is the Zwan Research Fellow for the Baker Institute’s Religion and Public Policy Program. From 2010 to 2025, he served in various roles at North Park University in Chicago, culminating in the position of Assistant Vice President for Civic Engagement. During his tenure, he also founded and led the Center for Civic Engagement and helped secure nearly $3 million for community-based initiatives over a two-year period.
In 2025, Kohng was recognized for his community service efforts on the floor of the House of Representatives by U.S. Congresswoman Delia Ramirez (IL-03).
Kohng also serves on the boards of local community-based organizations, including Communities United, GSJ Family Life Center, and the North River Commission.
Kohng holds a bachelor’s degree in History and Psychology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He earned a Master of Divinity from Trinity International University, an MA in Public Policy from the University of Chicago, and a Doctor of Ministry from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary.
