Katia Adimora, Ph.D. is a nonresident scholar and Fall 2022 visiting scholar at the Claudio X. González Center for the U.S. and Mexico. Her main research interest lies in immigration from Mexico to the U.S. and socio-political situation of Latino/Mexican communities in contemporary U.S. politics. 

Adimora’s doctoral studies at Edge Hill University explored representation of Mexican immigration to the U.S. in the press. She completed her master’s degree at University of Ljubljana and Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. 

She founded Research Group in Spanish and Latin American Studies and contributed to various undergraduate and postgraduate programmes (Contemporary U.S. Politics, Policy Making & Researching Politics, Children & Migration) at Edge Hill University. 

She has published peer-reviewed articles for Political Insight (‘Latino Power: How America’s Fastest-Growing Electorate is Reshaping U.S. Politics’), Journal of Latino/Latin American studies (‘Representation of Immigrants to the U.S. in Mexican Press during the First Trump Administration’) and various articles for The Conversation. She was previously a guest at the radio program Houston Matters.
