Join the Roundtable Young Professionals (RYP) for its first event of the year! Catch up with old friends or network with new ones, and hear one of the Baker Institute’s newest fellows, Ed Egan, director of the McNair Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, provided a view into the fast-paced, high-risk, high-reward path of a start-up firm.
This path begins with an original idea and ends, hopefully, in an acquisition or initial public offering. The talk focused on the three phases of start-up formation, as well as the sources of capital and the ecosystem institutions that support each phase of a new company's growth. Egan also addressed the policy challenges that may affect the growth potential of entrepreneurship.
