Members of the Baker Institute Roundtable and Roundtable Young Professionals were invited to join the Honorable Martin S. Indyk, former U.S. ambassador to Israel, and the Honorable David M. Satterfield, director of the Baker Institute, for an exclusive lunch and book signing. Ambassador Indyk spoke broadly on U.S. foreign policy challenges and models for success, as well as his latest book, “Master of the Game: Henry Kissinger and the Art of Middle East Diplomacy” (Alfred A. Knopf, 2021). Attendees each received a complimentary copy of the book, which Ambassador Indyk was available to sign following his remarks.

This event was free and open to members of the Roundtable and Roundtable Young Professionals through the link in their email invitation. These forums are dedicated to advancing the mission of the institute by fostering community engagement and dialogue on vital domestic and global public policy issues through interaction with Baker Institute fellows and invited guest speakers and experts from the public and private sectors.

Featured Speaker

The Honorable Martin S. Indyk served as the U.S. ambassador to Israel from 1995 to 1997 and again from 2000 to 2001, and also served as former President Barack Obama’s special envoy for Israeli-Palestinian negotiations in 2013 and 2014. He was special assistant to former President Bill Clinton and senior director for Near East and South Asian affairs at the National Security Council, as well as assistant secretary of state for Near Eastern affairs in the U.S. Department of State. In addition to his 40 years of U.S. foreign policy service, Indyk is an accomplished author and a distinguished fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations.
