A key mission of the Baker Institute is to bridge the gap between the world of ideas and the world of action. The "Election 2012: Policy Perspectives" series seeks to do that by providing a nonpartisan forum for discussion and debate of the key issues in this year"s U.S. presidential race.

"Election 2012: Policy Perspectives" includes events, policy reports and social media campaigns that connect Baker Institute experts with the public on timely, relevant topics -- such as jobs, the economy and health care.

The United States is facing a fiscal and economic crisis, which the next administration must navigate. At this event, Baker Institute fellows will examine the potential economic effects of various policy options, including tax and spending reform, available to the next presidential administration. In addition, the discussion will consider the stimulus vs. austerity debate in light of other countries' economic experiences. A moderated question-and-answer session will follow the presentations.
