The international humanitarian aid landscape has been dramatically reshaped in recent months. In recent weeks, the U.S. under the Trump administration, the UK, and other key donors have significantly cut funding for international humanitarian assistance programs. As a result, the sector is now facing unprecedented challenges.

In this live recording of the “Baker Briefingpodcast, Ambassador David M. Satterfield, former U.S. special envoy for Middle East humanitarian issues, and Sonali Korde, MD Anderson Visiting Fellow at Rice University’s Baker Institute for Public Policy and former assistant to the administrator of the Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance at USAID, delved into the far-reaching implications of these shifts. Drawing on firsthand insights from Colombia, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, and Sudan, they explored how humanitarian organizations must adapt to navigate this new and uncertain reality. Thank you for joining us during this insightful discussion that highlighted both the challenges and opportunities ahead for global aid.

This event was free and open to the public.
