On July 20, 1969, Neil Armstrong took "one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind." The success of the Apollo 11 mission satisfied the goal that President John F. Kennedy announced only eight years earlier. It fell to President Richard M. Nixon to answer the question, "What do you do after landing on the moon?" John M. Logsdon, former director of the Space Policy Institute at The George Washington University, will discuss his book "After Apollo? Richard Nixon and the American Space Program," which traces in detail how Nixon changed the course of U.S. space policy.

A book signing and reception will follow the presentation. Copies of "After Apollo? Richard Nixon and the American Space Program" will be available to purchase courtesy of the Rice University Bookstore.
