Lisa Guáqueta is the program manager for the Center for the U.S. and Mexico, tasked with overseeing its day-to-day operations, including budgeting and finance, development, community outreach, event management, visiting scholars and internship programs, and the nonresident fellows and scholars. 

Prior to joining the Baker Institute, Guáqueta managed public policy initiatives and advocacy related to public and higher education, workforce, and immigration at the Greater Houston Partnership; led the international field program at The New School’s Graduate Program in International Affairs; and served as the foreign affairs advisor for the City of Bogotá. 

Guáqueta studied economics at Universidad Externado de Colombia and holds a master’s degree in international affairs from The New School in New York.
