Political science fellow Mark P. Jones considered how the killing of George Floyd may impact the Texas Democratic Senate runoff election.

Political science fellow Mark Jones discussed some of the safety measures being taken during the first few days of early voting for the primary runoff elections in Texas.

“The data and analysis that emerge from this project will provide a unique window from which to observe important trends and events" in the political and social history of Texas, the country’s second-most-populous state, said political science fellow Mark Jones. 

“What’s clear is that something happened. The information was lost, it wasn’t filed, it went to the end of the line. These people were the guinea pigs and they fell through the cracks,” said Mark Jones, fellow in political science and the Joseph D. Jamail Chair in Latin American Studies.
