Biography
Miaomiao Rimmer is a research manager at the Baker Institute Center for Energy Studies. Her areas of interest include data automation, database design and data visualization. Prior to joining the Baker Institute, she was a data librarian at Fondren Library leading workshops on Python, Microsoft Access and SPSS. She also did consultations on Excel, SQL, Qualtrics, Airtable and R for Rice-affiliated patrons. She was a data manager for the Consortium for Student Retention Data Exchange before joining Rice. She received a Master of Arts in sociology and a Master of Regional and City Planning from the University of Oklahoma. She is also a SAS ® Certified Advanced Programmer and a certified data carpentry instructor.
