Dean Becker produces and hosts nine radio programs per week for the Drug Truth Network (DTN). Becker has consulted with a myriad of experts in the field of drug policy, including Antonio Maria Costa, former head of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime; Donald Tashkin, M.D., of the National Institute on Drug Abuse; and hundreds of other scientists, doctors, prosecutors, patients and providers.
Each year, Becker attends and reports from numerous drug policy conferences around the United States for DTN. Based at KPFT, Houston’s Pacifica radio station, the network produces a daily three-minute report (the “4:20 Drug War News”) and two weekly half-hour programs (“Cultural Baggage” and “Century of Lies”), broadcasting on more than 90 affiliate stations in the U.S. and Canada. DTN’s goal is to share an “unvarnished” truth with enough Americans to bring the current policy of drug prohibition to an end.
Becker serves as a speaker for Law Enforcement Against Prohibition. He is a board member of the Drug Policy Forum of Texas, the National African American Forum and End Mass Incarceration, Houston. He is a partner with Drug Policy Alliance and served as a liaison for The New York Times Drug Policy Forum. His first book, "To End the War on Drugs,” was released in 2014 and is available on Amazon and Kindle.
