The Bioscience and Health Policy master's degree program is currently accepting applications for the fall 2018 semester. The program, developed by the Baker Institute for Public Policy and the Wiess School of Natural Sciences, provides students with a deep background in science along with complementary courses in sociology, economics and policy studies. This knowledge will foster an understanding of the role of science in policymaking and the role of public policy in science. Students will leave the program with the skills to research, formulate and execute science-related policies.
Participants will have direct access to Baker Institute policy scholars, and the opportunity to meet with science and technology policy leaders. The program focuses on training health care managers as well as bioscience and health policy analysts, providing them with the tools to address the complex challenges inherent in bioscience research, public health, the U.S. health care system and health-related industries.
Applicants must have a B.S. or B.A. in biology or a related field of science, and good critical thinking and communication skills. Scores from the general Graduate Record Examination (GRE) are also required.
The 2018 application deadline is Feb. 15, 2018, for fall 2018 admission.
