David Sorge

David Sorge is a rising senior at Rice University studying linguistics and Asian studies. He eventually hopes to be a social entrepreneur addressing issues of ethnic, linguistic and religious conflict. David was born in the United States but spent the majority of his life in the Maldives, a majority Muslim country in the Indian Ocean, and Trivandrum, India. He transferred to Rice University after one year of studying theology and history at the William Carey International University in California. Outside of classes, David enjoys cooking, reading theology and fiction, and singing choral music. David has extensive experience traveling and living abroad, and he has completed internships with the Sociology Department of Rice University and Ashoka: Innovators for the Public in Washington, D.C.
