George Abbey is the Baker Botts Senior Fellow in Space Policy at the Baker Institute. He is former director of the Johnson Space Center and recipient of numerous awards. He was a member of the operations team that received the nation’s highest civilian award, the Medal of Freedom, for its efforts on the Apollo 13 mission.
