The Health Policy Forum at the Baker Institute is a new initiative designed to facilitate informed discussion of local and national health policy issues in the Houston community. The Harris County Healthcare Alliance was established in September 2006. Recommended by the Harris County Public Healthcare System Council, Harris County Commissioners Court and the Houston City Council, the Alliance aims to facilitate more effective collaboration between public and private health care providers to optimize the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of their services. The Honorable Bill White, City of Houston Mayor, and The Honorable Robert Eckels, Harris County Judge, present remarks at this reception.
