The Rice University Latin American Initiative presents former Mexican Foreign Affairs Secretary, Dr. Jorge Castañeda. In his address, Neighbors of Consequence: Mexico-US Relations in the 21st Century, Castañeda will draw upon his varied experiences as both insider in and critic of powerful institutions in Mexico and the United States to explore the most crucial issues for the success of Mexico-US relations in the coming years. As a scholar, statesman, and politician who has worked and lived in both countries, Dr. Castañeda is distinctively positioned to speak about the unique and important relationship between the two neighbors. This event is open to the public by invitation only.
