Americans and Russians Working Together in Space

C. Michael Foale, PhD, is an astronaut with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) who has flown on both the American Space Shuttle and the Russian Soyuz spacecraft. A veteran of six space flights, Foale has logged more than 374 days in space, including four space walks totaling 22 hours and 44 minutes. Foale currently holds the U.S. record for time spent in space. He is an active astronaut, supporting Soyuz operations, and International Space Station (ISS) and Exploration space suit activities.
