The Affordable Care Act is not the sweeping change in health care delivery that its greatest advocates or staunchest opponents suggest. It is not perfect, but it is better than what was in place before. The authors make two recommendations: 1) embrace and implement the act and work on improving it; and 2) expand Medicaid for all eligible Texans. Published in the Houston Chronicle, June 2013.
