Time to reopen the U.S.-Mexico border.

As COVID-19 spread in March 2020, the U.S. and Mexico restricted border crossing by land to "essential travel" only, but in practice this merely prevented Mexican citizens with passports and visas from entering the U.S. Through tracking proof of vaccination, the U.S. can and should now reopen the border safely and gradually to restore normal travel, argues Tony Payan, director of the Center for the United States and Mexico.
