Despite current projections, "hanging hopes for lower oil and gasoline prices on promises from OPEC+ countries to increase production is a risky bet," writes fellow Mark Finley. Instead, he argues, the Biden administration should encourage U.S. production for affordable prices in the short term while transitioning to a lower-carbon future.
