Baker Institute Commemorates 25th Anniversary
On behalf of Honorary Chair James A. Baker, III, and the fellows, scholars and staff of Rice University’s Baker Institute, I am pleased to share with you our plans for the commemoration of the Baker Institute’s 25th anniversary in 2018 under the theme A QUARTER CENTURY: MAKING HISTORY.
Throughout the year, the institute will highlight its past achievements and our vision for the future. Our commemorative events will culminate with a 25th anniversary gala in November 2018. Two longtime friends of the institute, the Honorable Hushang Ansary and Mrs. Shahla Ansary, have accepted to serve as honorary chairs of the 25th anniversary year. We also are honored to have as our gala co-chairs Franci Neely, Andrea White, Ned Holmes and John Nau.
The institute dedicates itself to lending a meaningful and nonpartisan voice to domestic and foreign policy issues through its research and programs. In recent years, the institute has introduced and strengthened specific centers and programs that address key issues, including the Center for Energy Studies, Center for Health & Biosciences, Center for the Middle East, Mexico Center, Center for Public Finance, the McNair Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, and the Presidential Elections Program.
Without your support, our success would not be possible. We look forward to celebrating our anniversary with you throughout this year.
