Top-ranked Hospitals and Price Transparency Laws
“Full price transparency would aid both patients and payers in choosing the most cost-effective providers, but we're not having that yet,” said health policy scholar Marah Short. A study coauthored by Short, health economics fellow Vivian Ho, et al., found that many highly respected U.S. hospitals are not in compliance with new price transparency legislation, and there are some dramatic differences in prices among those that are reporting them publicly.
