Biomedical science and the Arabic language might sound completely unrelated, but Rice University undergraduate Monica Matsumoto has found a way to combine her passion for both fields though her summer internship at the Baker Institute.
This summer, Matsumoto will work with the Science and Technology Policy Program -- specifically, the International Stem Cell Policy Program, which is endowed by the State of Qatar. She recounts the experiences that led her to the institute and her internship on the blog. Though the summer is just beginning, Matsumoto is optimistic and "thrilled to be working at the Baker Institute and to no longer be a bystander."
